Before We Set Sail …

  • Checking In – Check in for the cruise is open now! The earlier you check in, the more choices you have for your boarding time …. And the fun begins as soon as you board!
  • Travel Documents – Please remember to bring your passport!
    • If you DO have a US passport: No visa is needed to enter Canada
    • If you DO NOT have a US passport: Double check as to whether you will need entry visas for the US and/or Canada.
  • Check the Weather – While we won’t have an exact idea of what to expect until later in the month, we CAN tell you that temperatures could dip as low as 40°F (4°C) or hit close to 80°F (27°C).

We’ll be headed to a temperate rainforest, however, so expect rain, wind, cold and (hopefully) some beautiful sunshine. Make sure you pack accordingly!

Psstttt … the ship has an indoor heated pool AND hot tubs, so definitely bring a bathing suit and flip-flops!

  • Come find us the first night on board! Registration will be open from 7 – 9 pm in the Jewel Conference Room on Deck 13. You’ll be able to pick up your conference badge and welcome packet before the tracks begin.
  • Have questions during the trip? We’ll be hosting Cheers & Queries – a couple of casual (and optional) meetings with the speakers – in the ever-wonderful Boleros Lounge (Deck 4). Check the schedule for times!

  • What your cruise fare includes:
    • Your stateroom
    • Food in the Main Dining Room, and most other casual dining spots

    • Wi-Fi access (see below for more information)
    • Specialty dining/restaurants
    • Alcoholic beverages

However, any advanced (“real”) internet access will need to be purchased when on board.

  • Location – All sessions will be held in the Jewel Conference Room on Deck 13.
  • Schedule – If you haven’t already, please download the Ports of Call & Daily Track Schedule (located at the top of this page under “Resources”).

We scheduled a majority of the sessions on our ‘At Sea’ days in order to let you maximize port time!
  • Attendance tracking – Participants must sign in at the beginning of each session they attend, and attend the full session of a given track, in order to receive any credit for that track.

Credit hours will consist of classroom time, group work, and self-study time (prework).
  • Self-study time (prework) – Each of the tracks for this year’s symposium require work outside of classroom time.

Please remember: All work must be completed before the start of the cruise to receive credit.
